80-Plus Years of Growth

It was 1939 when Norman G. Gilbert founded Superior Tree Expert Co., a four-man tree-trimming business out of Kansas. In 1961, the company merged various subsidiaries to form NG Gilbert Corp., and by the time President Jan G. Gilbert took over as Chairman of the Board in 1984, it was an exponentially growing success. Following our 1996 acquisition by The Townsend Company, LLC, NG Gilbert is now part of a 2,000-plus-employee operation in more than 30 states.
